K3

After several years of using the FT-857, I started to miss radio with slightly better parameters.
I thought for a long time what would replace a pleasant and comprehensive, but unsuccessful, especially in urban conditions - radio.
I was thinking about the FT-450, I was thinking about the FT-950, when suddenly it turned out that the price-quality ratio at the dollar exchange rate slightly exceeding 2 PLN, allows me not only to dream but also to realize the idea of acquiring the cult K3 in many respects.
 

I ordered the putty, got it, and I made this kit.
It turned out that the idea of basing home station equipment on K3 was a very good choice.
K3 with additional equipment (ATU, PA, Panadapter, transverters, filter selection etc.) is a great solution.
 

Expensive? As we compare the price and parameters of the top shelf trxs, it will not be too expensive, even including transport and VAT.

II    Problems starting

1. During the assembly it turned out that there is no audio at all. The reason was the poorly crimped speaker plug on the cable.

2. The first problem was the inability to calibrate the power to 5W. It turned out that in one place (KSYN3), protruding above the paths tin, contained a signal to ground. I had to cut a millimeter.

3. The second problem - I could not calibrate the power over 6 meters. The problem was solved by Bartek SP3CAI, who detected that during the assembly I torn off one end wire protruding slightly more than the inductance plate on the toroid, mounted from the bottom of the plate. The damage was almost invisible, because the wire almost touched the path.
